10 Days Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari

Itinerary by Day

MOSHI/ARUSHA – LAKE MANYARA, DAY 1

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK FULL DAY GAME DRIVE

LAKE MANYARA – LAKE NATRON, DAY 3

Drive to Lake Natron with picnic lunch boxes after breakfast. The journey is difficult due to the rough and dusty road, but it is worthwhile and made easier by the beautiful and spectacular scenery along the way. Hiking the Ngarasero Escarpment, with its waterfalls and gorge, is particularly breathtaking. Natron is a remote location that exudes serenity and isolation.

The lake is exceptionally alkaline and beautiful, and it is home to over a million flamingos, most notably the pinkish white plumage Lesser Flamingos. It provides food and a breeding ground for these birds that are perfectly adapted to the harsh environment of a volcanic lake. Flamingos feed on the abundant Spirulina algae in Lake Natron’s waters. Dinner and an overnight stay at a chosen lodge.

LAKE NATRON, DAY 4

Full day at Lake Natron, including a visit to the Engare Sero Canyon and Massa tribe village. Dinner and a night’s stay at a chosen lodge

DAY 5: SERENGETI – LAKE NATRON

After an early start, your vehicle will climb out of the Rift Valley and into the Serengeti’s wide-open plains by midday, passing through exciting dirt tracks with breathtaking views. Safari begins in the north-east (kopjes). The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous park, as it is home to the world’s largest animal migration. The migrating animals are not restricted to the park’s boundaries and are free to roam wherever they want.

However, it has been observed that they are venturing further afield, and the wildlife watching has only been described as spectacular to this point. Dinner and a night’s stay at a chosen lodge.

SERENGETI
Early morning game drive to see the Serengeti Seronera wildebeest migration, then return for breakfast before going on a predator view game drive. Dinner and a night’s stay at a chosen lodge

SERENGETI
A full-day game drive is available. Overnight stay at a chosen lodge

SERENGETI – LAKE EYASI, DAY 8

Visiting Lake Eyasi will transport you to the Hadzabe people’s homeland, a dry and arid region where these hunters and gatherers are thought to have lived for over 10,000 years. The size of Lake Eyasi varies depending on the amount of rain, and in the dry season, it will be a parched bed. A great place to take a break from your wildlife adventures, which are plentiful in the surrounding parks.

The cultural and historical impressions you’ll get here will be a great addition to your memories. Dinner and a night’s stay at a chosen lodge.

DAY 9: CRATER OF LAKE EYASI NGORONGORO

After a picnic lunch, you will descend into the crater for a half-day crater tour until late afternoon, when you will begin ascending the crater rim on your way back to Karatu town. Dinner and a night’s stay at a chosen lodge

KARATU – TARANGIRE PARK – MOSHI/ARUSHA DAY 10

We’ll depart after breakfast for Tarangire National Park for an action-packed day of game viewing. The perennial Tarangire River dominates this park, which is known for its massive baobab trees that stretch and wind their branches into the sky.

Tarangire’s most impressive feature is its large elephant population. It is, in fact, the park with the largest population in northern Tanzania. There are over 3,000 of these gentle giants.

Tarangire is experiencing an elephant baby boom, and you’ll see a lot of juniors and babies among the herd’s members. Zebra, eland, mongoose, giraffe, bush buck, hartebeest, dik dik, impala, warthog, and reed buck are among the animals to be seen. Olive baboons, velvet monkeys, and bush babies are among the primates you might see. Many carnivores, such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals, can be found throughout the park. Today is the final day of your safari adventure; after a game drive, you’ll begin your journey back to Moshi or Arusha.
