Zanzibar Prison Island Tour

The Zanzibar Prison Island Tour is a half-day excursion. Changuu Island is another name for Prison Island. After certain Sultans of Zanzibar used this special island to keep adamant slaves, it was given the name “prison island.” Changuu Island is about a 25- to 30-minute boat ride from Stone Town using a mechanized framework.

Meanwhile, when Zanzibar became a British protectorate, the island was purchased from the Arabs and a real prison was built.

As a result, the prison was never used again until the entire structure was completed, and it is now a delightful resort. Four massive Aldabra turtles were presented to the island by a British Governor in the Seychelles in 1919 as a blessing.

Zanzibar, on the other hand, was a major trading center for a variety of commodities, including slaves. The slave trade was brutal, with a large number of people being trafficked to Zanzibar via Bagamoyo on the mainland.
You can combine them as a prison island and a beach called Nakupenda (sandabank picnic).

You can book a spice tour that includes lunch or a spice tour that includes a cooking class.
